What If Learners Were Recognized for the Credentials They Earn?
Thursday, March 19 | 1:00-2:00 PM ET
As Learning and Employment Records (LERs) gain momentum, the conversation is moving beyond just earning digital credentials—it's about what comes next. What do employers really need to make skills-based decisions, and how can credentials seamlessly flow between the worlds of learning and hiring?
1EdTech will share early findings from ongoing research into two foundational "last-mile" dimensions of LER adoption:
- Employer data needs, and
- Credential portability in practice.
Drawing from employer insights, ecosystem surveys, and technical analysis, we’ll uncover emerging trends, identify gaps, and highlight areas where issuers, digital wallets, repositories, and employer platforms are aligning—or diverging.
Together, we’ll explore what it will take for credentials to become trusted, portable records of learning; where the current ecosystem is falling short; and what needs to change as LER adoption accelerates.
Speaker:
- Rob Coyle, Digital Credentials Program Manager, 1EdTech
