1EdTech Consortium and WCET (WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies) are teaming up to offer a powerful new professional development experience: “Planning to Delivery: A 1EdTech and WCET Accessibility Workshop Series.” This multi-month program is designed to help institutions and edtech providers confidently build, evaluate, and sustain accessible digital learning environments.

By the end of the series, your team will be equipped with the practical tools, frameworks, and knowledge needed to ensure web-based content meets U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) accessibility requirements and WCAG 2.1 AA standards—while also strengthening your institution’s long-term accessibility strategy.
The journey begins with virtual workshops starting in January 2026, followed by an immersive in-person capstone in June 2026, held alongside the Learning Impact Conference in San Francisco.

Who Should Apply?
Organizational teams responsible for creating accessible content for their learners, customers, and users.
Participants will gain practical insights and strategies for implementing accessibility practices in their online content and services, including:
- Overview of the standards and DOJ requirements.
- Create buy-in for faculty and administration for accessibility compliance.
- Learn strategies for evaluating current content for accessibility and remediation of content
- Explore tools that enhance accessibility, including captioning and audio descriptions for videos.
- Develop policies and guidance to ensure digital content is accessible
- Evaluate current practices for accessibility using resources and rubrics.
If Selected, What Is the Cost of the Workshop Series?
- 1EdTech and WCET Members: $1,500
- Flat rate for 3 team members, minimum of 2 people
- Additional team members are $500/person
- Non-members: $2,000
- Flat rate for 3 team members, minimum of 2 people
- Additional team members are $500/person
- The workshop fee is required after a team is accepted
- The fee does not cover travel expenses or Learning Impact Conference registration.
