1EdTech Labs Live: What Does Shared Responsibility Mean for Edtech Security?
Thursday, June 25 | 1:30-2:30 PM ET
The edtech community is facing a new phase of security and privacy expectations, leading institutions and suppliers to ask important questions about trust, responsibility, and risk. 1EdTech has an important role to play in this conversation, and that role needs to be clearly understood.
This Labs Live session will explore how 1EdTech’s standards, certifications, rubrics, and community programs contribute to security and privacy practice as part of a broader risk management approach. We’ll look at where these efforts can provide structure, clarity, and shared expectations, while also recognizing that no standard, certification, or framework can eliminate risk on its own.
The session will help frame the questions now facing the community: how privacy and security vetting may need to evolve, how 1EdTech standards support trust, interoperability, and risk reduction across the ecosystem, and where 1EdTech can most effectively convene, guide, and support continued work across the field.

- Michael Feldstein, Chief Strategy Officer, 1EdTech Consortium
