1EdTech Labs Live: Request for Public Comment on Trusted Learning Context
Thursday, July 23 | 1:30-2:30 PM ET
AI can better support teaching and learning when it has the right context: the learning goals, course materials, learner progress, instructional constraints, accessibility needs, and privacy boundaries that define a specific learning moment. But that context must be shared in ways that are trusted, portable, governed, and grounded in open standards.
In this 1EdTech Labs Live session, we will introduce a new Request for Public Comment on a trusted, portable learning context for AI. The RFC builds on community use cases from the Learning Context for AI Experiment group and early experimentation from the AI Hackathon, where educators, institutions, and product builders explored what AI needs to know, what it should not know, and where existing standards can support responsible implementation. Participants will learn the core ideas behind the RFC, see how community input shaped the work, and understand how to provide feedback as 1EdTech moves toward practical, standards-based approaches for AI in education.
