The Accessible Assessment Standard Used Around the World

Tuesday, July 22  |  1:30 PM – 2:30 PM  |  Breakout/Livestream

Want to learn about the assessment standard that provides a way to create and share tests and questions with built-in accessibility and internalization features, providing ways to reach all learners? Question and Test Interoperability (QTI) is the accessible standard packaging format for assessments and adaptive lessons. In this session, you will discover what this international assessment standard is all about and the included accessibility features, such as supporting compliance with federal requirements to meet the needs of all students as stated in section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, screen reader support, and accommodations such as translations, simplified language, and extra time. It also provides a way to tag your tests and questions to get results reports and student usage information. It is not just for assessments but can be used to create/develop accessible and adaptive lessons. We will also look at some open-source applications and tools that can be used to develop accessible assessments.
