The following outlines the terms and conditions between 1EdTech Consortium (1EdTech) and you when you register for any event or conference organized by 1EdTech Consortium. By registering for an event or conference organized by 1EdTech, you are agreeing to comply with these terms and conditions.
Prior to your registration, you must acknowledge and accept the following Terms & Conditions. If you do not wish to accept the Terms & Conditions, you should not register.
Submission of a registration is regarded as an affirmation of your acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
PERSONAL INFORMATION USAGE
1EdTech is committed to data privacy and protecting your personal information. Review our Privacy Policy to learn how 1EdTech collects and uses your data. By submitting your email address during the event registration process, you agree that 1EdTech and its event partners may send you event-related information. A valid email address is required for all registrations.
1EdTech uses the personal data you provide when registering for administering your participation in this event. This may include information about the event's content, event logistics, payment, updates, and additional information related to the event.
1EdTech may disclose your personal data to third-party service providers engaged by 1EdTech to assist in the conduct of the event (e.g., hotels, onsite providers). Information you provide when registering for or participating in an event managed or co-sponsored by parties other than or in addition to 1EdTech may be shared with those parties, and the treatment of such information is further subject to the privacy policies of those parties. Except as described herein, 1EdTech will not disclose your personal data to any other third party without your consent except where required to do so by law.
LIABILITY WAIVER AND RELEASE
In consideration of being allowed to register for and participate in the event, you hereby warrant and represent that you are age 18 or above and freely waive, release from liability, assume all risks, and covenant not to sue 1EdTech or its members, employees, board members, agents, or volunteers for any expense, loss, damage, personal injury, including loss of life, illness, including but not limited to COVID-19, disability, property damage, or property theft or actions of any kind that you may hereafter suffer or sustain before, during, or after the event, unless said expense, loss, damage, personal injury, including loss of life, illness, disability, property damage or property theft or actions of any kind is caused by the sole, gross negligence of 1EdTech. This Liability Waiver and Release is specifically binding upon your heirs and assigns and is knowingly given.
PARTICIPANT AND SPEAKER DETAILS
If you plan to be a speaker or an attendee at a 1EdTech event, we may share your contact and biographical information and photograph with event attendees. We do this so other attendees and visitors to the event website can contact you with questions and requests for more information and provide feedback if needed.
NONDISCRIMINATION
1EdTech prohibits discrimination, harassment, and bullying against any person for any reason—for example, because of age, ancestry, color, disability or handicap, national origin, race, religion, gender, sexual or affectional orientation, gender identity, appearance, matriculation, political affiliation, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
AUDIO/VIDEOTAPING, DIGITAL RECORDING, AND PHOTOGRAPHY
You must obtain 1EdTech Consortium's permission to record any session or activity in any medium. 1EdTech reserves the right to ask any attendee to move within or to leave a session venue if their use of technology is disruptive to speakers or other attendees. Note that by attending the conference, attendees have agreed to the terms of the 1EdTech Image/Audio/Video Release below, which allows images, audio, and video recorded onsite to be used for educational and promotional purposes.
RELEASE AND WAIVER OF RIGHTS
By attending a 1EdTech Consortium Event, you hereby irrevocably grant 1EdTech and those acting with its authority (collectively referred to as "1EdTech") the following:
All rights to use your name, voice, likeness, biographical information, or image ("Materials");
All rights to photograph you for promotional purposes("Materials") ;
All rights to audiotape, videotape, or otherwise record you in an interview or participating in a session during an event ("Materials");
The unrestricted, absolute, perpetual, worldwide right (but not the obligation) to use, copy, modify, edit, create derivative works, display, transmit, perform, distribute, publish, exhibit, and otherwise use the Materials in any and all media or form of communication, whether now existing or hereafter developed, including on 1EdTech's websites or those websites owned by 1EdTech affiliates or anyone acting with 1EdTech's authority, all for the purpose of publicizing 1EdTech's programs.
By attending and registering for the event, you waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of the Materials. Further, you acknowledge 1EdTech's right to crop, splice, treat and edit the Materials at its sole discretion. You waive my right to inspect or approve the finished product, now and in the future, whether that use is known or unknown to me. 1EdTech reserves the right to discontinue the use of the Materials without notice to you.
By registering and attending the event, you represent and warrant that you hereby waive all rights and release 1EdTech from any claim or cause of action, whether now known or unknown, for defamation, invasion of the right to privacy, publicity or personality, or any similar matter, or based upon or relating to the use and exploitation of the Materials as contemplated herein, including but not limited to any reuse, distortion, blurring, alteration, optical illusion, or use in composite form, either intentionally or otherwise, that may occur or be produced in the production of the finished product.
GENERAL
By attending any event hosted by 1EdTech, you understand that 1EdTech reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without further explanation, to limit or deny access to any entity or individual. 1EdTech reserves the right to change, amend, add or remove any of the above Terms & Conditions at its sole discretion and without prior notice. If one or more of the conditions outlined in these Terms & Conditions should become invalid, the remaining conditions will continue to be valid and apply. These Terms & Conditions apply to all event participants (attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors).
The views expressed by any event attendee, speaker, exhibitor, or sponsor are not necessarily those of 1EdTech. All attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors are solely responsible for the content of all individual or corporation presentations, marketing collateral, and/or advertising.
