Beyond the Achievement: Supporting Learners with Evidence and Endorsements

Breakout Session  |  Date & Time TBD

Discover the transformative potential of incorporating evidence artifacts within credentials. We will discuss how endorsements can benefit both the badge itself and the individual who has earned it. Beyond merely outlining the criteria for earning a badge, providing evidence can demonstrate specific skills and accomplishments, creating a more comprehensive picture of a learner's capabilities for employers and educational institutions. Endorsements present an opportunity for third parties to validate both the credential and its holder. In this session, we will explore ways to enhance your badges, offering greater transparency, trust, and opportunities for learners in the digital age.

Presenters:

  • Rob Coyle, Digital Credentials Program Manager, 1EdTech Consortium

Aligning Your Credentials to the TrustEd Credentials Framework

Breakout Session  |  Date & Time TBD

We have made great progress using digital credentials to meet the needs of today's students, expanding learning opportunities and facilitating their transition from education to employment. Our next goal is to improve the quality, transparency, and value of these credentials. This session will focus on creating high-quality microcredentials, implementing detailed metadata, promoting stakeholder engagement, and ensuring trust in the digital credentials ecosystem.

Presenters:

  • Kelly Hoyland, Director, Post-Secondary Education & Workforce Programs, 1EdTech Consortium
  • Collin Sullivan, Program Director, Digital Credential Innovation, University of Maryland, Baltimore County

Ask Me Anything ¦About Open Standards for Microcredentials

Table Talk  |  Date & Time TBD

Do you have questions? Well, I've got answers! This open discussion is for anyone interested in learning more about the latest developments in Open Badges and the Comprehensive Learner Record Standard (CLR Standard). I can help you understand the difference between CLRs and LERs. We can chat about things like why open standards matter, integrating verifiable credentials into your digital ecosystem, or how to support learning mobility.
