Learning Mobility in Action: Building Pathways for Lifelong Success

As today’s learners navigate increasingly complex, non-linear journeys between education and work, the need for learning mobility—the ability to carry learning (knowledge, skills, and competencies) across institutions, systems, and life stages—has never been more critical. At the same time, workforce demands are evolving rapidly, requiring agile systems that recognize diverse skills, experiences, and credentials.

This dynamic webinar brings together leaders to discuss the intersection of higher education, technology, and employment and explore how we can reimagine institutional policies, data practices, and technology systems to better support all learners, especially those historically facing the greatest barriers to access and success.

Grounded in insights from AACRAO’s new publication Learning Mobility, and the work of innovative institutions such as Northern Arizona University (NAU) and Maricopa Community College's Rio Salado College, this session will highlight how colleges and ecosystem partners are building institutional solutions that have potential to scale statewide to other institutions of higher education and that center learners, streamline pathways, and remove unnecessary institutional friction.

Featuring AACRAO, 1EdTech Consortium, Strada Education Foundation, NAU, and Rio Salado College, the conversation will spotlight key strategies to:

  • Empower learners to own and use their verified education and employment data
  • Eliminate institutional and technological barriers during life’s transitions
  • Build interoperable, standards-based systems founded on trust and equity
  • Recognize and credential the full spectrum of learner experiences and achievements

Discover how partners support alignment of policy, practice, and infrastructure to create a future-ready, learner-centered ecosystem that meets the needs of both learners and employers.

Join us to explore why learning mobility is not just a concept—it’s a movement. Together, we can build a more connected, inclusive system that ensures every learner has a clear, supported, and affordable path from where they are to where they want to go.
