Credential Provisioning Task Force (Invite Only)

The 1EdTech Edu-API Credential Provisioning Task Force is working to extend Edu-API to support the exchange of the data needed to create and provision digital credentials.

Today, much of the information required to issue a credential originates in institutional systems such as student information systems, learning management systems, and other teaching and learning platforms. The task force is identifying how Edu-API can enable that data to move consistently into credential platforms, reducing custom integrations and manual processes.

The group is working to define the data requirements and workflows needed to support credential provisioning. This includes identifying the information credential platforms need to create Open Badges and other digital credentials, determining where that information originates, and defining interoperable ways to exchange it between systems.

Participants can contribute by sharing institutional credentialing workflows, source-system data requirements, credential platform implementation needs, and examples of where existing integrations are difficult or highly customized.
