Key Takeaways

  • Under a finalized agreement, the Learn & Work Ecosystem Library is joining the 1EdTech family through 1EdTech Global.

  • The partnership will make it easier for practitioners to explore the fast-growing field of LERs and digital credentials, find partners, and put ideas into practice.

  • The Library will keep its identity, editorial independence, open access, and community-driven model, with 1EdTech Global providing long-term support and stewardship.

The learning and workforce ecosystem is growing quickly. New credentials, Learning and Employment Records (LERs), and cross-sector initiatives are creating more ways for people to show what they know and connect learning to opportunity. To make those possibilities work in practice, organizations need both a clear view of the landscape and systems that can exchange information reliably.

That is why 1EdTech and the Learn & Work Ecosystem Library are coming together.

Under a finalized agreement, the Learn & Work Ecosystem Library is joining the 1EdTech family through 1EdTech Global. Together, the organizations pair 1EdTech’s technical standards, which help education and workforce systems share data and connect, with the Library’s ideas, examples, and resources to help practitioners navigate the field and put credentials into practice. This combination can make it easier to find partners, build on existing work, and develop credentials that connect learning and opportunity across systems.

The Learn & Work Ecosystem Library has become an essential guide for practitioners navigating LERs, Open Badges, digital credentials, and workforce innovation. With more than 2,255 resources, we help make this complex, fast-moving field easier to explore and put into practice.

The Library will retain its identity, editorial independence, open-access posture, and community-driven wiki model. Its role will continue to be shaped by its community, while 1EdTech Global provides long-term operational stewardship, aligned standards infrastructure, and sustainable organizational support.

This agreement also advances 1EdTech Global’s public-interest mission beyond the Consortium’s traditional standards portfolio. That includes supporting non-1EdTech standards when coordination across the ecosystem can help people and organizations work together more effectively.

Bringing the Library and 1EdTech together is an investment in a more connected and durable foundation for learning and work: one that combines technical infrastructure with the ideas and resources practitioners need to put credentials into action.
